Sponsor disclosure
Paid placement should be obvious
This page explains how The Useful Web handles sponsors, ads, affiliate links, and paid placement review. It is an operational policy draft and should be reviewed by counsel before paid volume scales.
Clear labels
Paid placements, sponsorships, and ads should be labeled so visitors can distinguish editorial listings from paid visibility.
Editorial review
Payment does not guarantee acceptance. Sponsors are reviewed for fit, safety, clarity, and usefulness before publication.
Placement
Sponsorship may affect where a listing appears only when the placement is clearly labeled or otherwise disclosed.
Affiliate links
If affiliate links are used, The Useful Web may earn a commission when visitors click or purchase through those links.
Sponsor accuracy
Sponsors are responsible for accurate claims, pricing, availability, logos, URLs, and landing pages submitted for review.
Payment processing
Sponsor checkout may be handled by Stripe. Stripe processes payment details, billing information, receipts, fraud checks, and related payment records.
Sponsor changes and removals
The Useful Web may reject, pause, relabel, edit, or remove paid placements if the sponsor no longer meets the directory standard, if a payment fails, or if the listing creates safety, legal, or user-trust risk. Questions: partnerships@theusefulweb.app.
